TRAVEL OPTIONS FROM UYUNI TO VILLAZON

Direct trip by bus: There are direct buses that go from Uyuni to Villazón. The journey takes 7 hours and the buses leaves at 6:00am and 8:00pm from Avenida Cabrera where the bus agencies are located. Buses arrive in the new bus terminal on Avenida Tumusla. The companies doing this route are Auto Transporte Tupiza (semi li-flat buses), and Expreso 11 de Julio (normal buses).
Direct trip by train: For a more comfortable journey, you can travel by train with Expreso del Sur (Tuesday and Friday, 9:40pm departures) or Wara Wara del Sur (Monday and Thursday, 2:50am departures). The journey takes about 9 hours by train. The train offers a salon class and an executive class.

SOME TOURISTIC INFORMATION THAT CAN BE OF INTEREST

There are not many tourist activities in this small border town, which is mainly used for border crossing to La Quiaca.

Museo Etnográfico Mosojñan: In La Quiaca, you can visit this museum of the indigenous history and culture of the region
Border: Villazón is separated from La Quiaca by an international bridge with Bolivian immigration on one side and the Argentinian on the other. Do not forget to go to both countries passport control when you cross the border—it is easy to miss one by mistake.
Food: There are hearty and cheap menus available upstairs at the municipal market, from about 8 Bs. Around the bus terminal in Villazón, there is an abundance of reasonably priced eateries.
Accommodation: There is an abundance of cheap hostels between the bus terminal and the railway station, so accommodation will not be a problem.
