TRAVEL OPTIONS FROM SUCRE TO VILLAZÓN

Direct trip: There is a direct bus from Sucre to Villazón. The journey takes 10 hours and the bus leaves at 7:30pm and 8:30pm from the bus terminal on Avenida Ostria Gutierrez. Please note that passengers have to pay a small bus terminal fee of 2 Bs (about US$0.30) before boarding the bus. The bus goes via Potosi and Tupiza. The company offering a service on this route is 6 de Octubre (semi lie-flat bus).
Trip with stopover: On the way to Villazón, the bus goes through Potosi which gives you the option to spend some time visiting this beautiful colonial town. Potosi is located about 4 hour from Sucre. You can travel to Potosi with Trans Emperador and continue to Villazón with Exp. 11 de Julio or OGlobo.

SOME TOURISTIC INFORMATION THAT CAN BE OF INTEREST

There are not many tourist activities in this small border town, which is mainly used for border crossing to Argentina.

Museo Etnográfico Mosojñan: In La Quiaca, on the other side of the border, you can visit a museum about the indigenous history and culture of the region
Border: Villazón is separated from La Quiaca by an international bridge with Bolivian immigration on one side and the Argentinian on the other. Make sure to go to both countries passport control when you cross the border—it is easy to miss one by mistake.
Food: There are hearty and cheap menus available at the municipal market, from about 8 Bs. Around the bus terminal in Villazón, there is an abundance of reasonably priced eateries.
Accommodation: There is an abundance of cheap hostels between the bus terminal and the railway station, so accommodation will not be a problem.
