Sucre and Cuzco are two very attractive cities for tourists traveling around South America. In order to travel from Sucre to Cuzco by bus, you have to divide your trip in two segments, as there is no direct route available. The most efficient way to do it is to travel from Sucre to La Paz first, and then take a direct bus from La Paz to Cuzco.
The distance between La Paz and Sucre is 694 km, and the trip by bus takes around 12 hours. The buses leave every day between 18:00 and 20:00, arriving in La Paz in the morning. To travel by bus from Sucre to La Paz you have to go to the bus station at Ostria Gutierrez Av. Before boarding the bus you have to buy the “uso terminal” which is a fee charged by the Terminal. It costs 2.5 Bolivianos. The buses arrive in La Paz at the Bus Terminal located on Peru Av. From that same terminal, you can take a bus to Cuzco.
The trip from La Paz to Cuzco by bus takes between 12 and 14 hours, depending on the bus company and route you choose. The more direct route passes through Desaguadero, while the longer but more touristic route goes through Copacabana. The buses leave at 07:30 in the morning and at 16:30 in the afternoon, and before you board you have to pay the Uso de Terminal fee, of 2.5 Bolivianos. All buses arrive in Cuzco at the bus terminal located on Evitamiento Av.
