The bus from Santa Cruz to Uyuni covers a distance of around 840 km on its most direct route, however, to travel by bus from Santa Cruz to Uyuni it is necessary to divide the trip into at least two sections since there is no direct route by bus or train. Stepover trip: This trip is only available with stopovers. The best option is to make the trip to Potosí with the company Trans Villa Imperial and continue to Uyuni with Expreso 11 de Julio. You can also travel from Santa Cruz to Oruro with the company Trans Copacanbana S.A. and continue the trip to Uyuni with Exp. 11 de Julio.

SOME TOURISTIC INFORMATION THAT CAN INTEREST YOU

Uyuni is the gateway to the world’s largest salt flat. You have different options to visit it:

1-day tour: The best option for those who want to experience Uyuni but are short on time. The full-day tours start and finish in Uyuni on the same day, leaving Uyuni at about 10:00 am. The first stop is the Train Cemetery. Then you visit Colchani, a small town where you can buy local salt and textile ornaments and have lunch. After lunch, the tour goes into the salt flat, to Incahuasi Island (Isla del Pescado). Tours return to Uyuni at around 6:00 pm.
3-day tour: This tour is the most recommended to enjoy everything the Salar de Uyuni has to offer. The first day is the same as the one-day tour. The first night is spent in one of the salt hotels within the Salar. The second and third days are spent visiting lagoons where you can see flamingos, hot geysers, strange rock formations and bathe in hot springs.
