TRAVEL OPTIONS FROM POTOSI TO TUPIZA

• Direct trip: There are direct buses from Potosi to Tupiza. The journey takes 6:30 hours and the buses leave from the new bus terminal on Avenida Las Banderas. Buses leave at 9:00pm. And make a small stop in Cotagaita. The bus company doing this route is OGlobo (lie flat 3 rows).

SOME TOURISTIC INFORMATION THAT CAN BE OF INTEREST

• Hiking: There are a number of good hikes that you do from Tupiza.  The nearby Cerro Corazon de Jesus offers a quick hike for example. You can also hike to Cerro de la Cruz for hilltop views of the town. Another hike is Cordillera de Chicas. You can reach these places with a tour or with public transportation.
  
• Salt Flats: Starting a Salar de Uyuni tour in Tupiza is a great alternative to starting in Uyuni: Tupiza departures arrive at each attraction at a different time of day, meaning the sites can be enjoyed without the company of other tourists. 
  
• Food: You can head to the main market and eat at one of the stalls for very cheap. There are also restaurants offering pizza and pasta.
  
• Accommodation: Accommodation is fairly cheap and comfortable for private rooms available for US$8.
