In order to travel from Lima to Machu Picchu by land, we need to divide the trip in two segments, as the direct trip is not available. The first part of the trip is from Lima to Cuzco by bus, which is a 10-hour trip covering a distance of 1103 km. The buses leave every day from Gran Terminal Terrestre Plaza Norte, located on Tupac Amaru Av., block 69, Independencia, with different bus companies at times between 06:00 am and 14:30 pm. The buses arrive in Cuzco at the bus terminal located on Vía Evitamiento.
For the second segment of the trip, you must go to the train station Wanchaq in order to take a train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu. The trains leave every morning and the trip lasts around 3 hours. They arrive in Machu Picchu town at the train station, located in Las Orquídeas.
