Direct trip: You can travel directly from La Paz to Cochabamba. The journey takes about 8 hours. Buses leave from 7:30am until 22:30pm. There are 5 daily departures. The buses stop along the way for a 30-minutes break so passengers can use the bathroom and buy a snack. The bus company offering this service is: Trans Copacabana S.A. (normal and lie-flat buses). Before boarding the bus there is small fee (Bs2.5) charged by the terminal that you must buy, called Uso de Terminal.

Palacio Portales: The Palacio Portales was built between 1915 and 1927 and was a residence of Simon Iturri Patiño, a Bolivian millionaire, and one of the wealthiest people in the world in the 1930s. Set in 10 hectares of gardens inspired by Versailles, the mansion was never occupied. It is now the Cultural and Pedagogic Centre Simon I. Patiño. The gardens and art museum are open to the public to visit.
La Cancha: La Cancha in Cochabamba is one of South America’s largest open-air markets. It is open seven days a week and you can find everything there.
El Cristo de la Concordia: Cristo de la Concordia is a statue of Jesus Christ located at the top of San Pedro Hill. It is accessible by cable car, or by climbing 2,000 steps. The monument has a total height of 40 meters. The views from the platform are gorgeous, and you can get a rare and clear view of just how big Cochabamba really is.
Tunari Mountain: Cerro Turani is a mountain which sits at 5,035 meters high, dominating the landscape to the northwest of Cochabamba. Travel two hours on the road, and go from a semi-tropical urban climate, to a mountainous and fresh environment. Many tour agencies offer this trip.
Toro Toro National Park: Four hours from Cochabamba, this national park is famous for being the land of dinosaurs and is worth a visit.
