Traveling from La Paz to Copacabana by bus takes around 4 hours and the distance between the two cities is about 150 km. The journey involves the crossing of the Tiquina straight, located 40 km before arriving to Copacabana.
There, passengers must disembark the bus and take a boat to cross while the bus crosses on a different ferry and collects passengers on the other side.
There are no night buses between La Paz and Copacabana. Buses leave from the main terminal in La Paz located on Avenida Peru and arrive in Copacabana at the main square, on Plaza Sucre.
Traveling from Puno to Copacabana by bus takes about 4 hours, depending on how long it takes to cross the border in Kasani. The distance between the Peruvian city of Puno and the Bolivian city of Copacabana is 142 km. Puno’s bus terminal is located on Avenida Primero de Mayo.
The buses leave every day between 06:00am and 1:30pm. After clearing migration travelers arrive in Copacabana at the bus stop located on the main square, Plaza Sucre, a few blocks from the port.
The bus journey between Cusco and Copacabana takes about 14 hours and the distance between the two cities is 530km. The bus stops at the Kasani border where passengers can cross and then resume their journey to Copacabana.
There are several bus companies offering this service. The buses depart from the bus terminal in Cusco between 10:00pm and 10:30pm. The buses arrive in Copacabana in Plaza Sucre, the main square, located a few blocks from the port.
