How many tickets can I buy?

The system lets you buy up to 35 tickets, nonetheless you have to be aware that the capacity of buses or trains is limited. Also, sometimes if the number of tickets to be purchased is considerable, there is the possibility that not all passengers will travel in the same bus or train.

What kind of information will I be asked for when I buy a ticket through the website?

When you register through Tickets Bolivia the system will ask some basic information that we need in order to process your reservation. Data about the buyer, including email addresses and phone numbers, are required to contact our costumers in case there are changes in itineraries or travel conditions. Also, data for each passenger is needed to prepare the travel logs at the bus or train company. Payment information is managed by an online payment company, which is encrypted and never shared with Tickets Bolivia. The credit card service uses the most advanced security protocols to provide a safe experience to our clients.

If the request is made less than 48 hours of your departure time, it may not be possible for us to arrange the requested changes or it may have a cost. We might not be able to make the change anyway, even if you write us with enough anticipation, as this will depend on the availability of the bus or train company. We will let you know as soon as we can either to confirm or deny the request.

How do I get the ticket once I make the payment?

Once you have paid for the ticket you will automatically receive an email from PayPal or Stripe with your payment confirmation. You will receive a second email from sales@ticketsbolivia.com with the confirmation of your trip and a link to your electronic ticket that you need to print and present at the office of the transportation company once you are in the bus or train terminal.

If you do not receive an email from Tickets Bolivia with the link to your electronic ticket, you need to send us an email to serviciocliente@ticketsbolivia.com, asking for your e-ticket. Sometimes our emails are sent to junk or spam folders, so it will be helpful if you can first check these folders out.

At what time should I be in the bus or train terminal for the check-in?

For national trips, you are required to be at the Terminal at least 30 minutes before the departing time of your train or bus, as indicated in your ticket. Tickets must be printed. For international trips, you must check in an hour before departure time.

Once you are at the bus or train Terminal you need to go to the bus or train company counter and check in with your printed ticket and personal documents.

Are there additional payments that I have to make?

In most bus terminals you will have to pay a Terminal tax (Uso de Terminal, in Spanish). This payment needs to be made in cash to the Terminal Officer, and has a cost of around 2,5 Bolivianos. Tickets Bolivia does not handle this payment.

How and how much does TicketsBolivia charge for its services?

Tickets Bolivia charges a commission that represents a small percentage of the total cost of the tickets. This amount varies: in more expensive tickets, the commission percentage is smaller. In the case of some bus or train companies, the Tickets Bolivia commission is covered by the transport company and not by the passenger. Administration fees include the management of the issuance of bus tickets, reservations and coordination with the bus companies. They are not reimbursable under any circumstance and are independent of the cost of the ticket. These administration fees will be applied again in the case of reimbursement of funds, if the conditions of the tickets so permit (except in situations where they are not requested by the buyer). During the purchase process, it is important that the passenger carefully check the screen that shows the breakdown of the total amount to be paid, including: the cost of the tickets, taxes and commissions. If the passenger does not agree with the amount to be charged, he or she can leave the system at that moment and the purchase will not be made.

Can I book my tickets the same day of the trip?

With the majority of bus companies, the system only allows the purchase of tickets with at least 24 hours of anticipation.
However, there are a few exceptions on certain routes and with selected bus companies, in these cases it is possible to book the same day of the trip up to two hours before departure of the bus. The companies allowing same-day booking are: Trans Salvador, Trans Omar, Transzela, Nordic Buss and Tepsa.
